Situated in the Geelong suburb of Newtown, Bostock House campus caters for approximately 100 students from Early Learning to Year 4.
We seek to appoint a Psychologist or qualified School Counsellor with specialist knowledge of child development to support the needs of children in the Geelong Grammar School environment. This position is offered on a part-time basis (1 day per week between 8.30 am-4.30 pm) during term time only, commencing Term 3, 2025.
About the role:
The School Psychologist is responsible for the following tasks:
Providing individual and group counselling interventions to students in Early Learning to Year 4 as required
Working closely with parents around concerns for their child’s wellbeing
Liaising and collaborating with other multidisciplinary staff (including external health providers and Geelong Grammar School staff such as teachers and nurses), to facilitate and coordinate student access to treatment and positive outcomes
Maintaining adequate professional records of clinical practice
Actively participate in meetings focusing on student management and case consultation.
Maintaining appropriate confidentiality
Ensuring ongoing professional development and continuous improvement
Demonstrating a high regard for students and their family in the context of the overall Geelong Grammar School community
About you:
To be successful in this role you will need:
Advanced skills in counselling interventions for children
Knowledge of child development and mental health
Relevant tertiary qualifications
Current Driver License
Must have a Working with Children Check (Employee)
Registration as a psychologist with AHPRA or registration with a professional mental health body such as ACA or AASW
