Our Corio Campus (approximately 920 students) located in Geelong offers day, day boarding, weekly boarding and full boarding for Years 5 to 8 (Middle School) and day and full boarding for Years 10 to 12 (Senior School). We seek to appoint a Psychologist or qualified Counsellor with specialist knowledge of youth mental health to support the needs of young people in the Geelong Grammar School environment. This position is offered on a part-time basis (2-3 days per week 8.30am-4.30pm – ideally Monday, Thursday, Friday), during term time only, commencing mid Term 2 2023. About the role: Our team of Psychologists/Counsellors provide on-site counselling to students, conduct assessments and liaise with other multidisciplinary staff (including General Practitioners, Nurses and other Geelong Grammar School staff) to facilitate and coordinate student access to treatment as required. The School Psychologist is responsible for the following tasks: Providing counselling to students as required Liaising and collaborating with other multidisciplinary staff (including G.P.’s, nurses and Geelong Grammar School staff), to facilitate and coordinate student access to treatment and positive outcomes Maintaining adequate professional records of clinical practice Actively participate in meetings focusing on student management and case consultation. Maintaining appropriate confidentiality with students and advocating on their behalf when required Ensuring ongoing professional development and continuous improvement Preparing reports or sharing information as appropriate in reference to student mental health and the impact issues may have on student academic and life circumstances Demonstrating a high regard for students and their family in the context of the overall Geelong Grammar School community About you: To be successful in this role you will need: Advanced counselling skills Knowledge of adolescent mental health and interventions Relevant tertiary qualifications Current Driver License Must have a Working with Children Check (Employee) Registration as a psychologist with AHPRA or registration with a professional counselling body such as ACA Geelong Grammar School is committed to the safety of all students and has a zero tolerance of student abuse.
